Mentorship

If you’re interested in molding the future of the broker channel, the IBAO has a Mentorship Program in partnership with various Colleges across Ontario, as well as our new 5-Week Mentorship Program, which also helps veterans.

Guide and inspire the next generation

Mentorship is a great way to introduce new talent to the broker channel. You can make a tremendous difference for newcomers who are exploring the idea of working for a brokerage or need guidance on how to begin their career.

IBAO Members with 5+ years of industry experience are invited to join our Mentorship Program. We’re looking for mentors from diverse backgrounds, roles and experience levels to help us create strong matches with college students entering the broker channel.

The time commitment is flexible and fits your schedule. You set the pace—
meet-ups happen at your discretion, based on what works best for you and your mentee.

Apply online, and we’ll notify you when you’re matched. You’ll receive a Mentor Toolkit and an email introduction to your mentee. From there, you set your own meeting schedule and at the end, we ask you to complete a brief evaluation.

We take the time to make thoughtful matches. We assess both mentors and mentees—looking at location, experience and career interests—to create meaningful matches that support each student’s goals in the broker channel.
